“I wanted to create a fragrance as addictive as a drug and at the same time as beneficial as medicine.” (Rei Kawakubo) Comme des Garçons 2 is not the typical fragrance structure of head and heart, and base notes. Every ingredient must be combined with the others in order to fully unleash their richness and so that one can experience the heart of the fragrance instantly! The “technical” component consists of the olfactory reproduction of Japanese ink and new aldehydes. New aldehydes are hydrocarbons obtained from alcohol which often smell like fruit or vegetables. The “organic”, that is “natural” component, is based on the key ingredient of frankincense as well as other spices.
