The Different Company Bois d’Iris Eau de Parfum Spray is enchanting, woody, floral and velvety in its base notes. It is the iris pallida and the Florentian iris that are responsible for this, hiding their most intensive scents in their roots. In order to get 90ml Bois d’Iris, you need an unbelievable 72kg of iris roots. After harvesting, the precious roots are laid out under the sun on wattling for a month and then dried in jute sacks for five years. After the drying phase, the roots are disintegrated and ground up, and the resulting powder is steam distilled after maceration. This is how you get iris essence. Other essences used for this one-time fragrance composition are iris pallida, vetiver, bergamot, cedarwood, narcissus, geraniums and musk.
