Shampoos or alkaline products can "open" the hair so that its structure looks like an open pine cone when enlarged. Acid can close this "opened" structure so that the hair is smooth again and shine is created. As the skin and also the scalp have a slightly acidic pH value, light acid can also support a healthy scalp and thus prevent excessive sebum production (rapid greasing of the hair). Precise colour results can be achieved by mixing the Dialight products. The colourless Dialight Acidic Gloss Clear can be used to tone down the intensity of a shade of Dialight gloss tint. Mixing Dialight Acidic Gloss Clear with Dialight gloss tints also liquefies the tint, which can be used to work the mixture into the hair more quickly. Regardless of the hair colour, Dialight Acidic Gloss Clear from L'Oréal Professionnel Paris enhances the shine of the hair. The products in the Dia range allow highly individualised colour results, with the Dia range containing the acid-based products from Dialight and alkaline products from Diarichesse. Dialight is suitable for 30 % white content and Diarichesse for 70 % white content in the hair. Dialight is particularly suitable for colour enhancement, colour corrections or colour balancing of length and ends. Colour balancing of length and ends may be desired, for example, if the ends have a slightly different shade than the rest of the hair after multiple colourings.

Before applying a hair tint, moisten your hair and then lightly towel-dry it. Then put on the gloves that come with the tint and apply the paste to your fingers. The hair colour is then worked in from the roots to the ends. You can spread the colour through your hair with your fingers or with a comb. The result is more even if the colour is distributed with a comb. The colour remains in the hair for around 20 to 30 minutes to achieve the desired result. The hair is then rinsed until clear water can be seen. After tinting, the hair is not washed for 24 to 48 hours.
