Lancôme Foundation

This was the aim of the two company founders, Guillaume d'Ornano and Armand Petitjean, when they conquered the market with fragrances in 1935. They borrowed the name Lancôme from a castle near Paris, the Château de Lancosme. Roses grew here in abundance and also contributed to the unmistakable trademark.
