In 2019, the Le Couvent de Minimes label launched the Aqua Majestae eau de toilette spray from the Colognes Botaniques range. The citrusy-woody fragrance is aimed at men and women. The majestic fragrance was inspired by the botanical garden of Le Couvent des Minimes in the south of France. The garden there was founded in 1612 by the then court botanist Louis Feuillée under Louis XIV. He had travelled the world and brought back the most exotic plants. The monks at the monastery soon utilised the aromatic and healing powers of the plants to produce creams and scented waters. The Le Couvent des Minimes label still honours this approach today in the Colognes Botaniques range, from which the Aqua Majestae eau de toilette spray originates.
Delicate but present, natural and so beautiful
To give Aqua Majestae Eau de Toilette Spray its elegant presence, perfumer Theodor Fontane has given it a top note of acacia and Argentine lemons. Osmanthus appears in the heart before woody notes perfectly frame the fragrance in the base. Many fragrances in the Colognes Botaniques range are unisex fragrances because Le Couvent des Minimes simply does not want to be restricted to one gender. In order for men's perfume to really come into its own, it is always sprayed very sparingly and directly onto the skin. The chosen fragrance is quickly released through body heat. If you use a spray bottle, the distance should be around 20 cm. The fine spray mist is not rubbed off and dries on the skin. As the spray mist rises from the bottom upwards, the skin is always perfumed from the bottom upwards. Ideally, the body should be prepared with an odourless body lotion before perfuming. The fragrances in the men's perfume will cling to the lipids in the lotion, ensuring a longer-lasting fragrance experience.
