What began with fashion in 1945 is now continuing with Balmain Hair Couture. Founder Pierre Balmain opened his first fashion atelier in Paris. He created haute couture for an exclusive clientele. Time and again, he managed to give his brand and his designs a new direction. Despite changing times, he managed to become and remain one of the greatest fashion designers.
In 1974, Balmain Hair Couture was added to fashion and perfume under licence. Hairpieces and hair extensions were considered indispensable accessories at the time. Here too, fashion underwent a change. From then on, the company no longer relied on synthetic hair, but on high-quality hair care and skilfully designed hair jewellery such as hair ties and hair clips.
