Klar soaps have been around since 1840, the year in which Philipp Klar founded his soap manufactory in Heidelberg.
The master soap maker developed numerous products that were in demand at the time. The small business expanded continuously and there was always a demand for natural soaps. After the Second World War, the three sons of the company founder took over the soap manufactory and successfully expanded it. In the early 1970s, the grandsons of the company founder, Theo and Klaus, followed in the footsteps of their ancestors. The soap manufactory has remained in family hands to this day. A few months ago, the company moved into its new manufacturing building in Plankstadt. Production here is climate-neutral, using only the power of the sun.
