Lalique: luxury French perfume in distinctive bottles

The luxury label Lalique is distinguished by its artistically designed bottles and high-quality fragrances. The company has its headquarters in Paris, where it manufactures artistic glass objects along with perfume and jewellery. The company was founded in 1988 by the glass artist and jeweller René Lalique, a Frenchman who achieved worldwide fame with his perfume bottles made of crystal glass, as well as jewellery creations and glass sculptures.

These days Lalique perfume is available in retail stores but there are nevertheless limited editions in exclusive bottles that cost several thousand euros and are only available in selected perfumeries and Lalique shops.

What characterises Lalique perfume?

Lalique fragrances impress with balanced compositions and high-quality ingredients as well as their very special bottles. The first perfume came onto the market in 1992, over 100 years after the company was founded. The initiator was the company founder’s granddaughter, Marie Claude Lalique, who took over the business straight after René Lalique’s death. His son Marc had been responsible for the business before his death.

With the first Lalique fragrance, Marie Claude Lalique managed to develop a product that was like a work of art – from both optical and olfactory standpoints. Lalique perfume represents sensuality, charm and elegance. Some of the bottles of the luxury fragrances are world-famous and can be found in museums.

Which Lalique perfumes are particularly famous?

Lalique de Lalique was the French glass art brand’s first perfume and it quickly became a classic. It smells floral and sweet with a top note of iris, jasmine and rose fragrance, a middle note of pear, blackcurrant and blackberry and a base note of vanilla, sandalwood and musk. Other exclusive fragrances of the world-famous brand are:

  • Lalique Encre Noir, an exciting men’s fragrance, which has a fresh woody character and exudes warmth and smoky notes.
  • Perles de Lalique, which smells of rose, iris, oakmoss, patchouli and iris root.
  • Lalique Soleil Vibrant, a fragrance that smells of sun and summer in a bottle that emulates the sun.

The Lalique Eau de Parfum smells intense and must be used sparingly. One to two sprays is enough for the unmistakable fragrances to unfold, which smell different on everyone’s skin.
