How to use the Yankee Candle Lilac Blossoms safely

The scented candle should be placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials. It should also be out of reach of children and pets. Shorten the wick to around 5 mm before lighting. This ensures that the flame remains small and the candle burns evenly without producing soot. The scented candle should burn for at least 2 hours at a time so that the wax does not just burn downwards in the centre and tunnel. However, a burning time of 4 hours should not be exceeded.

Scented candles are very easy to use, but a few factors greatly improve the burning behaviour and safety. Always place the scented candle on an even surface in a windless place and away from flammable materials. Before lighting, you should also shorten the wick to around 5 mm. To avoid tunnelling, leave the scented candle burning for at least as long as it takes for the top layer of wax to melt completely. This can take around two hours. However, you should not exceed a burning time of four hours at a time. For optimum burning quality, you should always extinguish the candle with a candle snuffer.
