Bruno Banani is the name of the successful brand, which is now one of the most successful in eastern Germany. The fashion company was founded on 1 November 1993 by Wolfgang Jassner, a business economist and multi-partner, and Klaus Jungnickel near Chemnitz. Unusual product tests and marketing ideas helped the company to success. With its swimwear brand and fashion themes such as "Everything to do with underwear", the fashion company achieved international popularity and success. Initially, 15 seamstresses produced designer underwear for men until the company moved to Chemnitz in 1999. Today, around 100 employees work there and produce around one million items of underwear every year. Bruno Banani products are now supplied to over 1500 specialist shops in Germany and abroad.
