The CHI Airtwist Curling Wand combines the capabilities of a curling iron with the features of a straightening iron in a single device. This 2-in-1 functionality allows you to create both straight styles and defined curls. A key feature is the integrated Cool-Air technology, whereby cool air flows through special vents whilst the hair is being styled. This process can help to set the curl immediately after it is formed. To use it, place a strand of hair between the two floating, gold-coloured ceramic plates and twist the device. For precise adjustment to suit fine to thick hair, there are five pre-set temperature levels to choose from, covering a range from 150°C to 230°C. The ergonomic, black cylindrical design fits comfortably in the hand and is complemented by a swivelling cable approximately two metres long, which offers freedom of movement whilst styling. A digital display on the handle allows you to check the current heat setting at any time. This model is suitable for all hair types and lengths.

Apply a heat protection spray throughout the hair and brush through well. Remember that your hair must be dry before you put it on the curling iron. If the hair is damp or even wet, it can burn. If your curling iron has a temperature control, select the right temperature for your hair type. For fine hair, this is 160 to 180 degrees, thick hair can withstand temperatures of 180 to 220 degrees.

Section the hair. It is important to put the top hair up, as you will start twisting the curls from the bottom. Divide the rest of the hair into smaller sections to make your work easier. Now you can begin: Make sure you wind strands of the same thickness onto the curling iron to achieve an even result.

Pinch the strand at the tip and twist it onto the curling iron. Hold the curl in this position for around 10 to 20 seconds.

Leave the curl to cool in your hand. For a more casual look, you can simply shake or comb through the hair at the end.

Set the result with hairspray or mousse. Use a special curl cream to add definition to your curls.
