French fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy caused a worldwide sensation with haute couture. Among the customers of his fashion house, founded in Paris in 1952, were celebrities such as Marlene Dietrich, Empress Farah Pahlavi, Audrey Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman and Grace Kelly. Prêt-à-porter fashion, which is in the high-price segment, is also in demand. In 1957, the perfume division was added to the company, with make-up and care products for discerning customers soon following.
