How to use the Yankee Candle Ocean Air scented candle safely
The candle requires a location with a stable, heat-resistant surface and should not be placed within reach of children or pets. Shorten the wick to a length of 3 to 5 mm before lighting for the first time. This keeps the flame small and allows the candle to burn more evenly and without producing soot. It is also advisable to let the candle burn for at least two hours at a time. The long burning time gives the wax surface enough time to melt completely, which prevents tunnelling. Between uses, you can use the plastic lid supplied to prevent loss of flavour.Use
Scented candles are very easy to use, but a few factors greatly improve the burning behaviour and safety. Always place the scented candle on an even surface in a windless place and away from flammable materials. Before lighting, you should also shorten the wick to around 5 mm. To avoid tunnelling, leave the scented candle burning for at least as long as it takes for the top layer of wax to melt completely. This can take around two hours. However, you should not exceed a burning time of four hours at a time. For optimum burning quality, you should always extinguish the candle with a candle snuffer.
