How to use the Yankee Candle Pink Sands scented candle

The tumbler should be placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials. It should also be out of reach of children or pets. Before lighting for the first time, shorten the wick to 3 to 5 mm. This has the advantage that the flame remains small and hardly any soot develops. At the same time, the candle burns more evenly. Always leave the scented candle to burn for at least two hours so that the wax surface can melt from edge to edge. This prevents the formation of a tunnel in the centre of the candle. If the scented candle is not used for a longer period of time, you should close it with the plastic lid supplied so that the aroma is retained.

Scented candles are very easy to use, but a few factors greatly improve the burning behaviour and safety. Always place the scented candle on an even surface in a windless place and away from flammable materials. Before lighting, you should also shorten the wick to around 5 mm. To avoid tunnelling, leave the scented candle burning for at least as long as it takes for the top layer of wax to melt completely. This can take around two hours. However, you should not exceed a burning time of four hours at a time. For optimum burning quality, you should always extinguish the candle with a candle snuffer.
