Do not extinguish the candle after lighting it for the first time until the top layer of wax has liquefied. You should then not leave the candle burning for longer than 60 minutes at a time. If the wick becomes too long, you can simply shorten it with scissors. Also make sure that someone is always in the room when the candle is burning.
