Hermès Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate

THE CREATION
In 2016, Christine Nagel, perfumer at Hermès, created the fragrance Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate. This unexpected interpretation of the colognes of the same name reinvents the astonishing freshness of rhubarb.

THE FRAGRANCE NOTES
A fruity fragrance with citrus notes, Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate cologne expresses the freshness of crunchy rhubarb and tart woodruff, which are joined by elegant musky notes.

THE OBJECT
The legendary lantern bottle shines in bright red. A contrasting ribbon on the orange box echoes the colour of the bottle.

With Eau de rhubarbe écarlate, Christine Nagel created her first cologne for Hermès. Completely new and unconventional, it is characterised not so much by citrus notes as by herbal ones. It captivates with the crisp, tart freshness of rhubarb and velvety notes of white musk.

In order for men's perfume to really come into its own, it is always sprayed very sparingly and directly onto the skin. The chosen fragrance is quickly released through body heat. If you use a spray bottle, the distance should be around 20 cm. The fine spray mist is not rubbed off and dries on the skin. As the spray mist rises from the bottom upwards, the skin is always perfumed from the bottom upwards. Ideally, the body should be prepared with an odourless body lotion before perfuming. The fragrances in the men's perfume will cling to the lipids in the lotion, ensuring a longer-lasting fragrance experience.
