THE CREATION
Created in 1998 by perfumer Gilles Romey, Rocabar is inspired by the equestrian world. Its name, made up of the English word "rug" (for rug) and the French word "à barres" (for stripes), refers to the traditional saffron-coloured horse rug with its striking red and blue stripes, which is made in the Hermès saddleries.
THE FRAGRANCE NOTES
With its woody amber notes, the masculine Rocabar Eau de Toilette combines warm notes of cedar with vibrant notes of cypress and the enveloping balsamic notes of benzoin.
THE OBJECT
The bottle is inspired by the lanterns of horse-drawn carriages of yesteryear and the black lid is reminiscent of the shape of a riding helmet. The fragrance's affiliation with the Parfums Fondateurs collection is recognisable by the label on the back, which features a motif by Philippe Dumas.
THE PARFUMS-FONDATEURS COLLECTION
The Parfums-Fondateurs collection draws its inspiration from the heritage of the House of Hermès. Each creation encapsulates the imaginative world of Hermès in a name, a fragrance, a colour. Over the years, Hermès has written a new chapter in its history with original, expressive fragrances, born from encounters with unique perfumers.
The name of this men's fragrance is a combination of "rug" - English for "blanket" - and "à barres" - French for "striped" - in homage to the traditional saffron-coloured horse blanket with blue and red stripes from the Hermès saddlery. Born in 1998 from the pen of Gilles Romey, Rocabar unfolds its strongest facets in an accord of woody, balsamic and resinous tones, which are emphasised in the fragrance trail by the underlay of pronounced cypress notes.

Use
In order for men's perfume to really come into its own, it is always sprayed very sparingly and directly onto the skin. The chosen fragrance is quickly released through body heat. If you use a spray bottle, the distance should be around 20 cm. The fine spray mist is not rubbed off and dries on the skin. As the spray mist rises from the bottom upwards, the skin is always perfumed from the bottom upwards. Ideally, the body should be prepared with an odourless body lotion before perfuming. The fragrances in the men's perfume will cling to the lipids in the lotion, ensuring a longer-lasting fragrance experience.
