Divide your hair into separate sections.
Straight look: Place the styler at the roots and glide it evenly through the section of hair down to the ends.
Wavy/curly look: Start with the styler at the roots and rotate it 180°. Now glide through the section of hair. You can create a variety of styles by using different positions and rotations.
Repeat the process until all your hair has been styled.
