The beauty label Burt's Bees was founded in 1984 in Dover-Foxcroft in the US state of Maine. Initially, the company only produced candles, but the founders later expanded the range to include care products for the face and body. The concept is based on the use of natural ingredients - mainly honey, milk and sugar. Many of Burt's Bees' products have since achieved cult status.
