Bvlgari - Italian company with Greek roots
The Greek silversmith Sotirios Voulgaris opened his first jewellery shop in the region of Epirus. To gain recognition, from 1877 he sold the silver and gold jewellery that he himself had produced in Corfu and later in Naples too. The main store, which is now under monument protection, at Via Condotti 10 in Rome was opened in 1905. Many other shops selling antiques as well as jewellery followed. When building his empire, Sotirios Voulgaris was supported by his sons Costantino and Giorgio, who took over management of the company following their father’s death in 1934. Thanks to the foundation of the Cinecitta film studio in Rome, from the 1950s the clientele included prominent artists such as Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Romy Schneider, Clark Gable, and Gary Cooper. In the 1970s, Bvlgari opened stores in the metropolises of Paris, Geneva, Monte Carlo, and New York. In addition to gold and silver jewellery, they also offered premium-quality watches, perfume, and leather goods. Today, the luxury goods are available in more than 180 stores around the world.
The fragrances Bvlgari Man and Bvlgari Omnia awaken desires in all those who don’t want to do without luxury and who love the Dolce Vita.
