THE CREATION
In 2013, perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena interprets the Bel Ami fragrance in his own score with a new material: vetiver.

THE FRAGRANCE NOTES
The leathery and woody composition of Bel Ami Eau de Toilette strikes new notes with the combination of intense vetiver, expressive leather and sensual lacquered cistus.

THE OBJECT
The bottle is inspired by the lanterns of horse-drawn carriages of the past and the black lid is reminiscent of the shape of a riding helmet. The fragrance's affiliation with the Parfums Fondateurs collection is recognisable by the label on the back, which features a motif by Philippe Dumas.

The Parfums-Fondateurs collection draws its inspiration from the heritage of the House of Hermès. Each creation encapsulates the imaginative world of Hermès in a name, a fragrance, a colour. Over the years, Hermès has written a new chapter in its history with original, expressive fragrances, born from encounters with unique perfumers.

While Jean-Claude Ellena sticks to the tried and tested codes - the balanced character, pronounced elegance and classic structure remain unchanged - he nevertheless writes his own score for Bel Ami, in which a new base ingredient sets the tone: Vetiver. From leather with a chypre note to leather with a woody note - where patchouli once predominated, warm vetiver now shines with woody notes, green nuances and barely perceptible smoky hints.

In order for men's perfume to really come into its own, it is always sprayed very sparingly and directly onto the skin. The chosen fragrance is quickly released through body heat. If you use a spray bottle, the distance should be around 20 cm. The fine spray mist is not rubbed off and dries on the skin. As the spray mist rises from the bottom upwards, the skin is always perfumed from the bottom upwards. Ideally, the body should be prepared with an odourless body lotion before perfuming. The fragrances in the men's perfume will cling to the lipids in the lotion, ensuring a longer-lasting fragrance experience.
