Scented candles are very easy to use, but a few factors greatly improve the burning behaviour and safety. Always place the scented candle on an even surface in a windless place and away from flammable materials. Before lighting, you should also shorten the wick to around 5 mm. To avoid tunnelling, leave the scented candle burning for at least as long as it takes for the top layer of wax to melt completely. This can take around two hours. However, you should not exceed a burning time of four hours at a time. For optimum burning quality, you should always extinguish the candle with a candle snuffer.
Keep the liquid wax free of matches and foreign objects. Do not use the candle if the wax residue in the glass is less than 5 mm high. Do not leave the burning candle unattended. Keep it away from children, curtains and pets. Do not move the burning candle or if the wax is still hot, wait until the wax has solidified. Do not place the candle on heat-sensitive surfaces, near flammable materials, near an open window or near other candles.
