Founded in Paris in 1965, the Paco Rabanne label initially became known for its futuristic stage costumes and extravagant fashion. In the late 1960s, Spanish designer and couturier Paco Rabanne was one of the most influential international fashion designers. He used unusual materials for his innovative designs, including various metals, plastic and glass fibres. One of Paco Rabanne's most sensational film outfits is the body-hugging catsuit he tailored for Jane Fonda in 1968 for her leading role in Barbarella.
In 1969, Rabanne launched his first fragrance for women in co-operation with the Spanish cosmetics empire PUIG. Rabanne's first men's fragrance appeared in 1973. Encased in iconic bottles with a high recognition value, further fragrance lines followed.
The Phantom fragrance is presented in a black and silver bottle in the shape of a robot, reminiscent of a small children's toy from the 1990s. The woody, aromatic men's fragrance was launched in 2021.
