Glass skin is a beauty trend that reached Europe from South Korea via social media. “Glass skin” denotes an especially fine, smooth, flawless complexion reminiscent of the purity of glass.

They interact to achieve their optimal effect. This layering method cleanses the skin deep down in the pores and supplies it with nutrients, while nourishing and protecting it perfectly. 1. Healthy diet:

Only healthy skin can achieve glass skin purity. For this reason, a healthy diet is top of the list. Balanced whole foods with lots of fruit and vegetables, whole grains and valuable plant oils form the basis of this diet. It is important to drink sufficient fluids. Give preference to water and unsweetened teas. If you eat like this, you will feel vital and fit and it will also be reflected in your skin.

2. Gentle cleansing

The women in South Korea know that cleansing is a decisive factor in maintaining beautiful skin. They opt for double-cleansing. With double-cleansing, the skin is first gently cleansed using a cleansing oil that is lightly warmed in the hands or an oil-based cleansing milk. With the help of the oil-based products, the skin is freed from make-up residues, skin flakes and sweat. Then you wash the skin with a water-based cleanser, for example a cleansing gel or foam. After cleansing, your skin is perfectly prepared for the next step of the glass skin routine.

3. Clear the skin with the 7-skin method

The toner is next on the list. It clears the skin and delivers moisture. When prepared in this way, your skin can absorb nutrients much better. The women in South Korea use the 7-skin method. They apply toner seven times, one after the other. In this way, they optimise the effect. Only use toner without alcohol and perfume because it should not irritate the skin.

4. Peels

The next step of the glass skin routine is the peel. Peels based on fruit acid or lactic acid cleanse and stimulate the formation of new skin cells. With the peel, you achieve a finer skin texture and can reduce small wrinkles and imperfections.

Face peels should not be used on a daily basis so as not to stress the skin too much. One or two peels a week are sufficient. On the other days, after clearing the skin, you simply continue with your skincare.

5. Skincare

Skincare is the next step in the glass skin routine. With serum and cream you provide your skin with valuable nutrients. Use a serum that contains

hyaluronic acid to lift the skin
vitamin C to protect and strengthen the skin
niacinamide to refine the pores and smooth the skin
collagen to strengthen the connective tissue. After the serum, apply a fatty cream as protection from environmental influences.

Small imperfections or mini wrinkles cannot be completely prevented even with the best skincare. However, if you use the glass skin routine regularly, your skin will look healthy and fresh, and small irregularities become less significant.

6. Sunscreen

You can only achieve glass skin with good sunscreen. Use sunscreen with a high SPF of at least 50. Alternatively, you can use a moisturiser with SPF.

7. Make-up

If you use the glass skin routine regularly, you can almost go without make-up. With a light foundation and targeted highlighter, you can complete your porcelain complexion. Complete the glass skin make-up look with a (little) blusher or bronzer – it’s best to use liquid or cream products for this.
