Soap is not just for cleansing, it also smells wonderful and cares for the skin. Klar soaps have long been a household name and have been around since 1840, when Philipp Klar founded his soap factory in Heidelberg. The trained master soap maker developed high-quality soaps. The initially small business grew over time, as there was always a demand for good soaps. In the years following the Second World War, Philipp Klar's sons took over the family business and continued to expand it. The two grandsons of the company founder, Theo and Klaus, followed in the footsteps of their ancestors in the early 1970s. The soap manufactory therefore remained in family hands. A few months ago, the company moved to its new manufacturing building in Plankstadt. There, work is climate-neutral and powered solely by solar energy.
