Dunhill perfume

Alfred Dunhill inherited his father's company in 1893 at the age of 21. He discovered his passion for the craft during his apprenticeship as a saddle manufacturer and it became like a religion to him. With a fresh entrepreneurial spirit, he created leather covers for cars. He founded an employment agency for car mechanics and published a magazine called Motor Mart. He then specialised in leather and metal accessories as well as driving and protective clothing. Dunhill Motorities was now born.

Alfred Dunhill developed a global business, supplying customers as well as prestigious manufacturers such as Rolls Royce. He developed a very high global presence with careful manufacturing of products with consideration for the environment and service. A futurologist and craftsman - a unique and brilliant combination. In 1941 his shop was bombed and he was back there the following day, running his business from his own desk out of the rubble. In 1963 he received a royal warrant from Queen Elizabeth II. In 1992 the 100th anniversary was celebrated and in 2008 the Bourdon House and Shanghai Home and Twin Villas were opened. In 2012, John Ray was appointed as Creative Director, giving the company another significant boost. ICON Dunhills symbolises inexhaustible innovative strength.
